Thanks to a little kernel magic from Team Whiskey’s morfic, the Nexus S is now running at 1.3GHz stable.
This isn’t the first time Samsung’s 1GHz Hummingbird processor has received the overlcock treatment, devices like the Samsung Vibrant have been OC’ed and lag-fixed to no end. Team Whiskey has long been making ROMs and kernels for Samsung devices, so it should come as no surprise to see them release the OC’ed Trinity kernel for use with Bionix NS1. Development on the Nexus S has been weak compared to Vibrant so far, but it looks like that’s finally starting to change.
As of right now, Bluetooth doesn’t work with the Trinity 1.3GHz kernel, but it’s on the to do list for future releases. To keep an eye on development, check out the Nexus S Trinity Kernel – Bionix NS1 thread.
