B&N’s e-reader, the NOOKcolor, has been hacked and modded so much, calling it anything less than a full fledged tablet just isn’t right.
In the most recent breakthrough with the NOOKcolor, xda-developers member dalingrin has made a Clockwork flashable kernel that puts the NC’s operating frequency at roughly 1.1GHz and stable. Early numbers out of the kernel look great with stock Eclair bringing in scores near the mid 1200s.
Flashing the kernel can easily be done via Clockwork recovery after downloading from the Overclocked(CPU, DSP, L3 Bus), Updated 1.1ghz kernel thread. Be sure to read everything before jumping in and remember that this can be risky business – Make sure you know what you’re doing. Should anyone feel the urge to take their NOOKcolor to the next level and take the plunge, let us know how it works in the comments below.
