Samsung Galaxy Mini (S5570) image leaks out

I’m a little confused by all the ‘mini’ versions of gadgets coming out these days. For example, Sony Ericsson’s X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro (review). Sure, they’re cute and fit nicely in small pockets, but they’re just so difficult to use compared to a slab–at least when they feature touch screens. But that’s me and there are buyers out there for just about any gadget.

Samsung wants in on the diminutive action and is launching a micro-gadget for their Galaxy series. Samsung Hub posted the image above with some specs and an expectation of a Mobile World Congress unveiling. Not a spec monster by any means (according to what we know), the gadget does run 2.2.1 and features a 240 X 320 display with TouchWiz. Perhaps at the right price point, this one will win the hearts of lovers of small things. I’ll stick with the phones that I like to think of as small tablets.

Yet another product Samsung will release and then forget about.

Yeah, especially considering how bad samsung has been about update, this will just worsen the update fragmentation. I think that this won't get past gingerbread.

Given Samsung's lack of support for most of their devices, especially the Galaxy S line in the US, why would anyone in their right mind buy any of their future products?
