Engadget recently got their hands on a prototype of the PlayStation phone, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play, and made a pretty thorough walk through video. Unfortunately, we still don’t get a look at the devices native gaming experience, or the game discovery/purchase portal, but at least this video demonstrates the music player, widgets, and UI overall. The software needs some work before the expected unveiling at mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, as the interface isn’t exactly snappy. But again, this is a pre-release model.
The Xperia Play will ship with Android 2.3 and a single core Snapdragon processor. Dual cameras, 512MB RAM, and a 4″ display at 480 X 954 are also on board.
