Rob Jackson from Phandroid discovered this video, which shows of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming PlayStation device, the Xperia Play, in the YouTube channel of a company called Interactive Game Studios. The about us page from IGS’ website indicates that the comprising members are approved Intel, WebOS, iPhone, and Sprint developers. Because Android is missing from the list, the question immediately arises: did the person shooting this video attain the Xperia Play through an official developers’ program or by some other means? Perhaps the person who shot the video doesn’t even work for IGS. Rob presents another possibility: the shooter acquired the phone via Sprint’s developer program, and The Now Network will “make the impossible possible” by launching the device heretofore seen only running on GSM networks with David Blaine on February 7th.
Rob considers a number of other possibilities in his original post, including Google TV and PlayStation integration.
