Google offers template, UI library for creating websites that look great on Google TV

In a bid to make we design for Google TV simpler, more uniform, and friendlier, Google announced today the availability of four new design templates; two based on Flash, and two that utilize open source technologies alone. The templates themselves are licensed under Apache 2, and can be modified and used accordingly. The result is a sort of turn-key web interface for sites dedicated entirely to television viewing or as a redirect for sites that want to be Google TV ( and living room) friendly. In order to ensure consistent navigation via the D-pad found on Google TV remotes, Google has released a corresponding UI library.

Google also has a guide for Google TV website optimization, but if you’re looking for a quick and elegant solution, these new templates should do the trick.

I work for DISH Network and got to play around with the device for a bit I was so impressed with surfing the web on my TV. DISH Network and Google have worked together to enhance your integration feature with your search. When you do a search for whatever your topic is it will search through the web, DVR recordings, and any upcoming events in your guide related to your topic. Check this out at DISH Network website.
