Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 revealed

Samsung’s first competitor to the iPad, the 7″ Galaxy Tab, fell short of their expectations. Realistically, the device was little more than something to hold would-be iPad buyers over until Samsung could release something that can really compete — Something like the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Coming in with a 10.1-inch, 1280×800 WXGA TFT LCD display, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a dual-core application processor, surround-sound speakers, 8MP auto-focus back camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 16 or 32GB internal storage, 6860mAh battery, and of course, Honeycomb.

As you can clearly see, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be in direct competition with not only the next version of Apple’s iPad, but the Motorola Xoom and LG G-Slate as well. So why should you buy the Galaxy Tab 10.1 over it’s incredibly similar competitors? That remains to be seen. The three most obvious factors in deciding which Honeycomb tablet to make your own will be manufacturer specific content, availability, and community support. If Samsung takes a cue from any of their other devices released in the past, we can expect to see the Tab 10.1 reach massive availability status soon after release. Content and community support will have to be discussed at a later date.

Stay tuned to DroidDog as we gather up more coverage on Samsung’s latest Honeycomb tablet.
