Google announced today that they’ve added some improvements and new features into the latest build of Google Maps for Android. The new version, 5.2, is available now to download in the Android Market, and works with Android devices running Android 1.5 and above. The new version of the popular application now supports Tweeting Hotpot reviews directly from within Google Maps for Android, allowing for instant sharing. Another new feature includes the ability to use Google Latitude to “ping” nearby friends, which will send a pop-up notification to the friend’s phone to let them know you’re close by. Latitude will now let you search for nearby places if it’s not found in the provided list.
