Motorola Charm maintenance update in the works

Just two days ago, Motorola announced that along with the Flipout, the Charm would not be updated past 2.1. Motorola isn’t backing out on their word, but they aren’t leaving the Charm for dead either.

As of right now, Motorola is looking for 500 candidates to beta test a maintenance update. In order to get involved, you have to take a short survey by 10 p.m. EST on March 10th, found here. According to the official release notes, the update will include the following:

Added Wifi calling
Added SlackerRadio and NAB
Improved phone stability
Calendar bugfixes
Improved calendar performance
Added Google security patches
Songs purchased from Amazon MP3 store now visible in Connected Music Player
Improved touchscreen response
Last text message now shown instead of the first
Improved audio quality through speaker

As you can see, the list is nothing to just shrug off. For more information, visit the Motorola Forums today.
