Android 2.3 isn’t a common commodity quite yet, officially present on only the Nexus devices available now, but that’s obviously not stopping manufacturers from readying the software upgrade for current generation devices. According to a new rumor, it looks like the Droid X may be the first of the Verizon-branded Android-powered devices to receive the official update. According to Droid-Life, the update could start as early as next week, with some folks seeing the update notification as early as midnight on Sunday. So if you’ve got your hands on a Droid X, at least you have something to start looking forward to (if the rumor is true, anyway).
