Samsung has a long history of re-releasing phones with a twist in order to try and extend the life of a product. Perfect example, the Galaxy S 4G. Between the GS4G and the Vibrant, nothing substantial has changed except for the addition of a 4G radio. So what’s Sammy’s newest re-release? The Galaxy S Plus i9001.
Coming in with a 1.4GHz processor, 8GB internal storage, 4-inch SAMOLED display, Android 2.3, and TouchWiz 3.0, the Galaxy S Plus will look very familiar if you’ve ever seen the original. Slated for release around the end of April, the Galaxy S Plus will be priced at priced at 23,990 rubles, or $844.
With the release of the Galaxy S II right around the corner, it’ll be interesting to see how sales of the GS Plus pan out. At the right price, I’m sure Samsung could sell a million of ‘em — literally.
