Rumor: LG Nexus 3

As Taylor Wimberly, formerly of Android and Me, posted his farewell post on his blog, he dropped one last major “Android Insider rumor report” by saying this:

LG Nexus 3 with Tegra 3 by Christmas…

If you were to say there’s absolutely no real evidence to support the existence of a Nexus 3 from LG using a Tegra 3, then you’d be right. But if you also said Taylor has a great track-record with with early information on Android handsets, you’d also be right.

It certainly is plausible, with LG and Nvidia already heavily partnered up, the Tegra 3 slated to be released by fall ’11, and LG looking to get their piece of the OHA founding-father pie that Motorola, HTC, and Samsung have already had, but keep in mind that at this point, this is a totally speculated rumor. For now, just take it as food for thought.

Speaking of, what are your thoughts? A Nexus 3 from LG? With a Tegra 3 quad-core processor? Sounds like one serious device.

If (Verizon){  echo "i get one"; }else{  echo "i get something else"; }

There is something about LG I don't like, maybe it is just that hideous logo. Any ways, even when I only do Vanilla Android, thanks to Nexus, I think I will be forced to try Sense UI. Unless this stays just as a rumor, and Sony takes things under control. I would loooove to see a Nexus X (Xperia)

Well the first Nexus was made by HTC. The second was made by Samsung. Google can't afford to prioritise manufacturers one over another, so there will be a Cycle where all manufacturers will get their turn at creating a Nexus. Personally I'm looking forward to what Sony Ericsson have to offer, and if it looks anything like the Arc, it'll sit on my desk any time.

It would be awesome to have a nexus device on Verizon but if there isn't any hard evidence in the next month or two I might have to pull the trigger on the Droid Bionic.

if it came to verizon for once i might shit myself. but i heard it was going to be a tablet? maybe they'll pull a steve jobs and make a nexus series of devices (nexus:nexus tablet, iphone:ipad)

I heard that LG's Nexus wasnt going to be a phone, instead it would be Google's first Nexus Tablet. Now if that would be turn out to be true, would a Nexus tablet be the only thing coming out this Christmas/Holiday Season or would we also get another Nexus phone as well???
