Amazon one step closer to releasing an Android tablet of their own

According to a report out of DigiTimes, Quanta Computer has received the order from Amazon to begin production on some 700,000 – 800,000 tablet PCs, rumored to be powered by Android.

While these rumors of an Amazon branded tablet are nothing new, any sort of proof is. Originally, the release date for this sort of device was pegged for around this summer. With a now estimated release date of Q3 – Q4 2011, that rumored release date looks be to coming true.

Thanks to Cloud Drive, the Amazon Appstore, and other miscellaneous pieces of software, Amazon has proved that it has the ecosystem to pull off its own tablet, it just needs the hardware. Would you use an Amazon branded tablet? Let us know in the comments below.

Would, indeed, go for an Amazon tablet.

After my experience with kindle? For sure, yes! Yet it would be a hard choice if this device uses LCD - but if it will come with color fast rate e-ink - no questions asked I would go for the amazon pad
