Google has been working hard to make their Places app your number one resource for finding things to do. Whether you want to see a movie, visit a museum, or grab a bite of authentic mediterranean cuisine, Google Places has something in mind for you. But it can’t make appropriate recommendations unless you start rating businesses and letting Google in on your tastes. And perhaps that’s Places’ biggest problem: not enough people are using it regularly.
Google is addressing the problem with a series of simple how-to videos that serve as much purpose for advertising as they do for technical assistance. And the company has employed the cutsie but stationary Professor Emoji to show you the way.
