The story of the Toshiba Thrive is a long one, having first appeared online at Amazon.com in late March with no name, price, or release information. Roughly a month later, in late April, a trademark filing for the name Thrive appeared. As the trademark was filed for a “tablet computer” by Toshiba, it seemed set in stone that the 10.1-inch Honeycomb device would someday land as the Thrive. Well here we are again, just two months after the trademark filing, and Toshiba has finally put their flagship Honeycomb tablet, the Thrive, up for pre-order.
When it comes to specs, the Thrive fits in nicely with current offerings from other manufacturers. Among the 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor powering Android 3.1, Honeycomb, you’ll find:
10.1″ High-resolution LED Screen
5MP rear camera
2MP front-facing camera
User-replaceable Easy Grip Back cover and battery
One USB 2.0, One Mini USB, One HDMI and an SD Card Slot
