Google’s third-generation Nexus device could land in October

It’s hard to believe that we’re already at the third-generation of Nexus devices, but it looks like we could be closer to a release than previously believed. Details regarding the new high-end handset from Google are still speculative at this point, and being tossed around the rumor mill at a pretty steady pace. This time around, a new report from Electronic Times suggests that the new device, reportedly code named the Nexus Prime, could land in the market as early as October.

No firm dates were provided, and as it stands right now it’s just another rumor to add to the mix. However, previous reports have suggested that the device could land sometime in the Fall, so this would line-up quite nicely with those earlier claims. As far as the device goes, specifications include a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 720p resolution. And under the hood, we should expect the device to be Google’s first Android 4.0 (or Ice Cream Sandwich) device, powered by a 1.5GHz processor. We’re still waiting on more details, so stay tuned.

If the phone is the same size as the sensation but the screen is bigger, i'm all in for this. #Ready

Why 4.5"?  Feels like manufacturers just want us to go bigger and bigger.  They're gonna have to increase the size of pant pockets soon!

1.5 single or or dual core is my question?

Now, if they would PLEASE come up with some way for T-Mo EvenMore+ (now Value plan) customers to purchase a Nexus device using the equipment installment plan.... Subsidized customers can get discount pricing at Best Buy for a Nexus S upgrade, but you can't get one on installment... thus you get stuck with the regular T-Mo devices...

Keep dreaming, TMO's EIP's are toast. They discontinued them in Late July. So be prepared to pay in full at once for any phone you get through them!
