While the HTC Flyer may not have been the huge success that HTC expected, the company is obviously still moving forward with other variants on the tablet idea. The HTC Puccini has been a device that has seen plenty of leaks in the past, and most recently it was seen heading through the FCC here in the States. So if you’ve been anticipating getting your hands on the device, if a quote from an HTC executive can be believed you may not have much longer to wait. According to HTC CFO Winston Yung, who was quoted speaking with the Liberty Times in China, the Flyer could be seen as early as September or October.
Good news all around, right? The Puccini is the 10.1-inch tablet that many have been waiting for, especially with the rumor-mill throwing out some pretty impressive specifications. The device is said to feature a 1.5GHz processor under the hood (no word on dual-core or not quite yet), and the FCC approval earlier in the year suggested it would be connecting to AT&T’s 4G LTE network. What may be a bad thing, though, was the fact that the HTC CFO was speaking about HTC’s sales in China when he unveiled the release date for the Puccini. This could mean that the tablet will see a release in that region first, and the US (and other markets) later. Or, we could see a global launch for the tablet, which would be good for everyone.
