Earlier today we saw the HTC Amaze 4G official press images find their way online, but without an official announcement from HTC or T-Mobile USA. That’s finally changed, though, as the wireless carrier has finally made the handset official. With a new image to go along with the announcement, no less. The Amaze 4G will be positioned as another high-end device with a stand-out camera experience.
And that’s where the focus of the Amaze 4G really is. As we’ve heard in the past, the device features an 8MP camera on the back, but that’s not where the specs end. It will have the ability to record 1080p HD video, will feature zero shutter lag, have a backside illuminated sensor for low-light performance, and dual-LED flash. The features keep going, though:
- SmartShot: Captures 5 photos, and creates the best shot using clear faces and smiles.
- PerfectPics: This is a separate album in your Gallery, which will filter some of the best images on your phone, that you’ve taken with your camera. This will be done by prioritizing things, like calendar events, overall image quality and presence of faces.
- ClearShot HD, BurstShot and SweetShot
Other features are still the same. It will have a 4.3-inch qHD super LCD; run Android 2.3.4; a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor; and a 2MP front-facing shooter. The Amaze 4G will be up for pre-sale on October 10th, and will be available in stores starting on October 12th. You’ll be able to get it for $259.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. You’ll also need to sign that new, two-year agreement and have a qualifying plan.
