LG Esteem features 4.3-inch display, LTE-connectivity

Looks like metroPCS is getting ready to ratchet up the LTE game, all with the help of LG. Details on the large-screened LG Esteem have finally broken cover, and for those of you under the regional carrier’s wing, this could definitely be your next phone. For those of you keeping track, this one’s the same LG device that was going around by the codename Bryce way back in July, so if some of these stats sound a bit familiar to an upcoming high-end device heading to metroPCS, that would be why.

So, let’s talk about features. The handset will have a 4.3-inch touchscreen display; a 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood; a 5MP camera around back that’s capable of recording 720p; there’s a 1.3MP front-facing shooter; 512MB of RAM; 8GB of built-in storage; a 1,500mAh battery; and Android 2.3 out of the box, fitted with a proprietary LG skin. And yes, it will be able to connect to metroPCS’s LTE network.

As far as a release date is concerned, no word on that. However, a tipster did suggest that the device will cost $249 after a $100 mail-in rebate.

Yah, that's not very high end, but that's why I don't have metroPCS.

i have metro pcs for 9 years and i can call international land line as wel as picture msg, msg all over the world. all for $60.00 tax included. can ur expensive network can do it. phone is a phone not laptop.

how fast is Metro's LTE on average, I've always wondered.

About equivalent to most other carrier's 3G in my experience.

that's bull metro's 4g is amazing. It's faster and more reliable than my DSL I have with At&t

I speedtested an Indulge one day in Alpharetta, GA.  We saw 3 Mbps down/1 Mbps up.  Faster than anybody's 3G.
