While everyone is waiting to see what the first Ice Cream Sandwich-powered device will look like, and whether or not Verizon will be getting the exclusive launch rights to the new mobile OS, it looks like LG isn’t waiting around to get their own Nexus Prime (or DROID Prime) rival out of the gate. According to LG themselves, which was revealed through a page entirely in Korean, LG’s LU6200 looks to be a real competitor to whatever Samsung has coming down the pipe.
The device in question is running around with just its model number at this point, but we should expect a name at some point here soon, especially if LG does indeed to position this as a true Nexus Prime contender. And that’s where the specifications come in. According to TechRadar, the device will reportedly feature a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, with a resolution of 1280×720. It will be an HD display with an IPS screen. Underneath the hood, there will reportedly be a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1840mAh battery to keep the phone running (hopefully) all day. And yes, it will be an Ice Cream Sandwich-powered device.
Additional specs will apparently include an 8MP camera on the back, and a 1.3MP front-facing shooter. There’s no information on a release date yet, but if ICS is ready to launch by the end of October, LG probably won’t wait long after to announce their beast of a device.
