Motorola DROID 2 Gingerbread update available now

There has been a lot of clamoring about the Gingerbread update for the Motorola DROID 2, as well there should be. While other devices were seeing the update notification for awhile now, the DROID 2 was seemingly being left in the dark. Of course, it didn’t help that Motorola had managed to pull the update from the masses. But, now the update is in full-swing, and if you’ve got yourself a DROID 2, you should be updating your phone right now.

The update measures in at 106MB, so make sure that you’re got yourself connected to a WiFi hotspot. Of course, keep in mind that the update is rolling out in phases, so if you don’t get the notification, you will. Or, you could always head into the Settings option and try to pull the update from the air on your own, if you’re patience has run to the breaking point. As for enhancements, you’ll be able to find the full list below, but you should expect to see some much improved battery life while using WiFi, some improved contact syncing, as well as the standard visual improvements that come with Gingerbread. Check out the full list, and then upgrade your phone and let us know what you think of the Gingerbread update.
