So, you’re someone who thinks that just because you have the latest and greatest device from a manufacturer, that you should get the latest and greatest software updates before those older phones from the same manufacturer? Unfortunately, some manufacturers don’t see it that way. If you’ve been keeping up with the latest spat of Gingerbread updates for devices, then you know that plenty of Motorola handsets already have the update. Specifically, the DROID 2 and DROID 2 Global just got updated; and now it looks like Motorola is getting ready to release the update for the DROID 3 sometime here shortly.
As is usual with Motorola, the company is getting ready to kick-off a “soak test” for the update. That means that a few of you lucky DROID 3 owners out there will be able to test the update for Motorola, and they’ll be able to tell if the device is ready, on a wide scale, to get the update. If everything goes smoothly, the rest of the DROID 3 owners out there may see their update to Gingerbread sooner, rather than later.
