Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition image leaked, shows off angular edges

While rumors of the 7-inch version of Motorola XOOM’s tablet were taking off last week after an image of the device landed on the Internet, it looks like those initial rumors may have been a bit off target. While a 7-inch tablet is still rumored to be in the works, it seems that that tablet is actually a little bit bigger, and will be going by the name of the XOOM 2 Media Edition when it launches sometime in the future.

Details about the smaller tablet are still scarce at this point, but according to information provided to not only Engadget, but Thisismynext… as well, it looks like this tablet will feature an 8.2-inch HD IPS display, and will weigh in at only 0.95 pounds. According to the information provided, the Media Edition XOOM will be angled toward the eReader crowd, as it will also feature an anti-glare coating. There will also reportedly be an IR Blaster, and an included subwoofer just to spice things up.

No word on a release date yet, but it’s good to see that Motorola is gearing up to release tablets in all variety of sizes. Who’d be interested in an 8.2-inch tablet?

Anyone notice it matches the Razr?

I have an 8.9" tablet(g-slate) and love it, more comfortable to hold and type on than the 10" in my opinion...

8" is the way to go for tablets I feel. 7 leaves you wanting more, and 10 is like carrying around a crappad!

Okay that's nice and all but whats the price point? As we all know that Xoom's are not cheap. Its quite pricey and thats one of the reasons it didnt sell as much.

I'd buy an 8.2" tablet before I'd buy a 7". Maybe before 10" as well.
