Sony Tablet S now available for pre-order on Canadian Best Buy website

The tablet market may not necessarily be heating up, but there’s certainly no hesitation in companies trying to release the next big thing. For Sony, they’re hoping that could be one of their brand new pair of tablets, the Tablet S or Tablet P. For those of you in Canada, if you’re a frequent browser of the region’s Best Buy website, then you may have noticed that the Tablet S is up for pre-order.

Let’s kick around the specifications, shall we? It features a 9.4-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800. Under the hood there’s a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a rear 5MP camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. A 5,000mAh battery should keep you going through the day, as you mess around with Android 3.1. You will be able to find the device in either a 16GB model, or a 32GB version.

Pre-orders for the device have been underway at Sony for a little while now, but the device going up for pre-sale at Canadian Best Buys should mean that other retailers will be getting their own inventory soon enough. As fo right now, Canadian Best Buys imagine that the device will land in their warehouse somewhere around September 23rd. Price wise, the 16GB version will run you $499, while the 32GB model will cost you a cool $599.
