Amazon was probably pretty excited about their first tablet device long before they announced it, but now that they know plenty of people out there are eagerly anticipating getting their hands on the device, even before any reviews have made their way onto the Internet, they have to be beside themselves. According to a new report, it looks like Amazon’s first tablet device is already flying off the shelves, so to speak.
The Kindle Fire, which was announced last week and won’t ship until mid-November, has reportedly managed to rake in 95,000 pre-orders on the first day. That’s an impressive number, to be sure, and it will likely grow to an even more significant number before the official launch, which is scheduled for November 15th. At only $199, it’s no surprise the 7-inch, heavily customized Android-based tablet is a hot seller, but only time will tell if it can stand up to the competition on the market by the end of the year.
