For those of you out there who don’t scramble to get their hands on the latest all-touchscreen Android-powered phone, but waited to get your hands on a more rugged device like the Casio G’zOne Commando, you’ve been rewarded. That’s right, a device that some people probably thought would never really see an update to Gingerbread has been given the green light by Verizon, and the update is available now.
The software version is C771M070, and not only does it bring Gingerbread to the device, but it also adds a plethora of improvements to the performance as well. The update is being rolled out over the air (OTA), so if you’re a bit more patient then you should get a notification of the impending update. However, you can always head into Settings –> About Phone –> Software Updates –> Check New and pull the update down yourself, if you just can’t wait to get that Gingerbread goodness on your handset.
