Screen resolution and quality has jumped ten-fold over the last few years, and by now consumers expect the absolute best when they pick up the latest high-end, noteworthy device. Here in the United States we have plenty of options, but some would say that Super AMOLED is the top-tier, and most sought-after. Of course, with options, and better technology, there comes a time when we just have to realize that something new, better, and more improved is coming. And that’s where LG comes in, touting their new True HD IPS display.
The manufacturer has unveiled the new display with their sister company, LG Display. According to the companies, the new display type “offers advanced resolution, brightness and clarity and shows colors in their most natural tones, as they were meant to be seen.” Sounds impressive, right? The new display offers up 1280×720 HD resolution, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Breaking it down further, you’re looking at 329 ppi. The display also offers up color adjustment.
We’ll just have to wait and see when this display makes its way to smartphones here in the States, but hopefully it doesn’t take too long.
