Well, well, well. Motorola may have a few Verizon-specific devices out there right now, but obviously the manufacturer isn’t going to rest idly by. Oh no, they’ve still got new devices coming down the pipe, and there’s no reason to think that they’ll let the DROID name slip by, especially when we’re looking at a successor to the original that started at all. That’s reportedly what we’re looking at right above: the DROID4.
Sources speaking with Droid-Life have said that the DROID4′s slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard is the best keyboard they’ve ever used. According to the information coming along with the photo, the phone itself is super-thin for a device featuring a slide-out keyboard, and it will indeed be packing 4G LTE connectivity.
Other specs include: a 4-inch display; “RAZR styling”; non-removable battery; 1080p video recording; front-facing camera; and a full 5-row “illuminated” keyboard. It will also feature MotoACTV syncing and an HDMI-out port.
Questions regarding the processor and release date are still up in the air. While rumors suggest that this device could see a launch in 2012, there are even more rumors suggesting that this handset is done and ready to go. If this device launches in early 2012, that would certainly be an interesting move by Motorola.
