This isn’t the first time that this device has managed to show itself off for the camera. When it initially broke cover, though, there were rumors tagging along for the ride, suggesting the device would be the Samsung Galaxy S II variant for AT&T. While we know that is obviously not the case anymore, that doesn’t mean that Samsung doesn’t plan on releasing the device. And, according to a tipster speaking with BGR, this could be a gift to those waiting until the first quarter of 2012.
As the title suggests, this will apparently be known as the Samsung Captivate Glyde, which seems a bit confusing. While the Captivate title is tied to AT&T already, the Glyde name dates back to a touchscreen handset that launched for Verizon. What’s in a name, though, right? We’ll just have to wait and see if that is indeed the name that Samsung and AT&T agree to go with next year, when this phone is supposedly launching.
