The Samsung Stratosphere seems to be leaking out bit by bit. While there may be nothing too exciting about the device due to the fact that it’s basically a re-branded Samsung Epic 4G, that more than likely won’t stop folks from clamoring to get their hands on the device. That is, unless they can hold out for something a bit better, like the Samsung Prime. In any event, the specifications sheet for the Stratosphere has found its way online, so we can basically say the specifications have been confirmed.
The device in question will feature a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 800×480 resolution; a 1GHz processor; 5MP rear- and 1.3MP front-facing camera; 4GB of built-in storage, coupled with a 4GB microSD card pre-installed; 512MB of RAM; and it will reportedly launch with Android 2.3 under the hood. Interestingly enough, the document suggests that the Stratosphere will be targeted as a “mid-range” device, and come with a price tag that some folks will find affordable. If that October 6th launch date pans out, we should be hearing plenty about the Stratosphere, courtesy of more official channels, very soon.
