I can hear it already, “Here we go again.” At least now the Galaxy Nexus has a rumor partner. The ASUS Transformer Prime, the first quad-core tablet running Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor, has now become a contender with the Galaxy Nexus for the “most rumored release dates” award. Last week, we were under the impression that, come December 8th or 9th, we would be quad-coring our lives away. However, a leaked photo of Gamestop’s updated computer system shows a possible release date of December 19, 2011.
To ASUS’s credit, there has been no official word on when the Transformer Prime will launch, though. A good sign is that, unlike the Galaxy Nexus in the US, the tablet has already been out for pre-order for a couple weeks, which means that it’s release can’t be too far away. ASUS has scheduled an event for early December, at which we all hope to see more of the Transformer Prime along with an official launch date, not to mention announcing Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, which would make for a sweet icing on the cake. Until then, all we can do is wait.
