Barnes and Noble Nook Tablet breaks cover, reportedly launching November 16 for $249

Barnes and Noble has something to announce soon, real soon, but it looks like the cat has already jumped out of the bag. At least that’s what we can tell from a recent leak that broke cover today. According to the fine folks at Android Central, the newest device in the Nook family line-up will be landing in the middle of this month and pack quite the impressive sheet of stats.

As you can imagine, Barnes and Noble wants to make sure that if they’re going to call something a tablet, that it has the specs to back it up. While the original Nook Color did just fine as a tablet replacement for folks that didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg to get a high-end device, B&N wants to make a tablet this time around. So, as far as specs go, here’s what we’re looking at: a 1.2GHz OMAP4 dual-core processor; 7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024×600; 16GB of bulit-in storage, and 1GB of RAM; microSD card support; and about 8 hours of battery life without WiFi turned on. It will also come with support for Netflix, Hulu and Pandora out of the box.

The device will also feature an email application, a Web Browser, and other pre-loaded applications. As for a release date, it says in the leak that it will be unveiled on November 7th, that pre-orders will kick off on that day, and that the tablet will launch on November 16 for $249.99. Stay tuned for more info.
