Google Maps is one of those applications on your phone that you know is going to get an update pretty regularly, and thankfully the updates are usually worth it. For example, this latest update, which brings the Map applications to version 5.12.0, not only removes a feature that some people were having problems with, but also adds a new element to the application that some people will especially love.

That last bit will completely depend on where you live, though. The new feature being added to Google Maps is live events, which lets you see where live events are taking place in your neck of the woods. Now, the new feature only works in London, San Francisco, Paris, New York, and Zurich, so it isn’t for everyone quite yet.

The feature Google decided to remove is “Post to Twitter” within the Places. Go ahead and find the update in the market and let us know what you think.
