HTC Ville breaks cover, will reportedly feature Ice Cream Sandwich

Not that you couldn’t tell from the rendered image above, but this device will reportedly launch with Android 4.0, or Ice Cream Sandwich. The device you’re looking at is code named the Ville, and it’s scheduled to be announced by HTC next year at Mobile World Congress (right next to the Edge, for what it’s worth). And, according to BGR, this is a phone that will pack plenty of impressive specifications.

Here’s what we’re looking at: a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540) Super AMOLED display; a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor; 8MP camera on the back with 1080p HD video capture; a 1,650mAh battery; HSPA+-connectivity; and Beats Audio Technology. The handset will apparently measure in at only 8mm thick. It will launch with Android 4.0, and will also launch HTC’s Sense 4.0 overlay.

There’s no telling how much of this is true, but there’s no doubt in our mind’s that HTC would want to enter into the Ice Cream Sandwich phone race with a bang, and the Ville would be an easy way to do that. Stay tuned.
