Ice Cream Sandwich Ports Come to a Plethora of Devices

Whenever a new version of Android is announced the community gets very excited for ports to start popping up for their devices. One of the great things about the Android community is that you can always run the latest and greatest software without buying the latest and greatest device. Since ICS went open source a few weeks ago devs have been hard at work bringing Android 4.0 to a number of devices. They’ve got ROMs working for everything from the Nexus S to the G1. Check the list below to see if your device made the list!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Stage: Alpha 1

Working:
- It boots
- Radio, calls, SMS
- Audio partially working (in-call is fine, playing mp3/ringtones leads to WLOD)
- Bluetooth and GPS seem to work
- WiFi almost working (“Can’t find WLAN0 device”)
- Mobile data (It fetches IP but disconnects afterwards, needs investigation)

Not working:
- Most stuff does not work
- Quite unstable

Samsung Captivate

“Known issues”:
- UI is laggy
- Video recording does not work
- Video playback is not hardware-accelerated
- The front camera produces distorted preview
- Photo taking does not work with the front camera
- Movie Studio does not work
- FM Radio does not work
- Device encryption does not work
- USB Tethering on Windows requires the user go to to driver update and manually select the RNDIS driver
