When we first told you about the project that Motorola was getting ready to kick off for the Motorola XOOM tablet, the expectations were pretty high for something pretty awesome. Meaning, people wanted the project to be a public test for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich build that the XOOM tablet should be getting at some point in the future. Unfortunately, though, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Motorola has sent out a new email to those who are participating in the project, and it outlines just what those folks should be expecting: a very limited update. In fact, the update is meant to test out better support for people who use the tablet on a pay-as-you-go plan. However, if you are someone who is part of the new project, you should be excited that you’ll get the software update to your tablet sometime this afternoon, hopefully. That’s the plan, anyway.
