It’s been a week since we told you that Verizon was getting ready to (finally) release the official version of Android 2.3 to the Samsung DROID Charge, and it looks like today is finally the day. At least, that’s what we’re starting to hear in our inbox and around the ‘net. It seems that a few owners out there are starting to get the new Gingerbread build today, which should make plenty of DROID Charge owners out there plenty happy.
We already know what the update brings, but some of the key factors will be the new download manager and the SD encryption. You’ll also notice a new color scheme. You should be receiving an update notification at some point today, but if you can’t wait any longer (and we don’t blame you), then go ahead and head into your Settings and try to pull the update from the cloud on your own.
And of course, be sure to let us know how it goes.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
