Yesterday we had the displeasure of telling you that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the very first smartphone with Android 4.0, had been pushed back to December. Now, while that was just a rumor in and of itself, it was coming from a source that many consider quite trustworthy and knowledgeable when it comes to Verizon-branded products. This time around, with this particular rumor, we’re hearing it from someone who spoke with one of their mom’s piano students’ parents. Yes, it may be just as ridiculous as it sounds.
But, we’re here to suggest yet another rumor. Unfortunately, we can’t really say that we’re behind this one at all. According to the tipster, the phone works great, the software is quick, and the camera is “snappy.” All that sounds great, but then they throw in that the phone is set to launch on November 18th, but other details like pricing are still unknown. Sure, it’s perfectly possible that there wasn’t a delay in the first place, that the 21st was never the date the Galaxy Nexus was going to be launched, and the 18th was always the date. Yes, that’s possible. Likely? That’s a bit of a stretch, if you ask us.
But, crazier things have happened, so we’ll have to wait and see. It’s not like it wouldn’t be the first time that Verizon has just made a phone suddenly available. But, we think they might want to handle the first Ice Cream Sandwich-equipped device a bit differently.
