No launch of a product goes perfectly smooth, which is truly unfortunate. Both Samsung and Google found that out recently with the launch of the Galaxy Nexus, the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-powered device. While the launch went well enough, people soon discovered a volume bug that caused plenty of folks to raise their voices in frustration. Thankfully, Samsung said a software patch was incoming, and sure enough Samsung held orders of the device and started flashing them before their shipments went out to fix the issue.
We heard four days ago that Samsung was flashing devices to fix the issue, which would coincide with their statement that a simple software patch could fix the issue. That looks to be the case, and the manufacturer is now restarting shipments of the device in the UK. The retailer Clove has stated that their handsets already have the update installed. So, we’ll have to wait and see once these new handsets find their way into consumer’s hands whether or not the volume bug is really fixed or not.
