Samsung Illusion for Verizon official, launches online November 23 for $79.99

Just as we heard earlier in the week, the Samsung Illusion will be launching for Verizon on November 23rd. However, there seem to be some major caveats to the launch, as it won’t be as widespread as some had anticipated. In fact, Verizon is keeping this launch strictly online for a little while, which should make sales of the device a pretty interesting number come next year, when the handset finally lands in stores.

Verizon has officially announced the Samsung Illusion will be available beginning November 23rd, but only online through their portal. The phone will be available for $79.99 with a new, two-year contract — but there isn’t any mention of a mail-in rebate this time around. But, you can get it for free if you order the Illusion between November 24th and November 28th, so keep that in mind if you know someone who would love this mid-range device, but you don’t want to pay anything for it.

The Illusion will launch with Android 2.3 right out of the box, and a 1GHz processor under the hood. You’ll find WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth, as well as a 3MP camera around back. It will support a microSD card up to 32GB in size, so you’ll have plenty of storage if you want it.

Lastly, the Illusion won’t be landing in stores until January 2012, so if you wanted to get a hold of this device to try it in hand before you buy it, you’ll have to wait. The full press release is below.
