While the Orange San Francisco II may not necessarily be a new phone to those who keep track of things like that, the Blade S name certainly is. What it isn’t, though, is surprising. The original Orange San Francisco went by the Blade name when ZTE launched it with its own branding sometime after the San Francisco’s original launch. That looks to be the case this time around, too, with ZTE tacking on an ‘S’ to make the updated phone stand out.
At least, that’s what we’re seeing from a new Bluetooth SIG page, anyway. The phone, which should land on the market at some point in the near future, will pack a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a rear-facing 5MP camera, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box.
For those of you in Europe who fall under Orange’s subscriber network, then you can get this phone as the San Francisco II right now for only £99.99 on PAYG. There’s no reason to think that the ZTE Blade S won’t sell for nearly the same price when it launches.
