Paging all AT&T-totin’ New Yorkers. 4G is finally within your grasp… maybe. Sorry for the qualifier folks, but sometimes, that’s just how the cookie crumbles. In any case, some people did get a taste of some 4G action when AT&T introduced the Big Apple to the LG Nitro HD. Apparently today, the company opened its 4G network in parts of the city to consumers.
Unfortunately, this is not an official deployment. AT&T says that they’re testing the network for now, but reports indicate that it’s all good. Speed tests show downloads as fast as 27 Mbps and uploads at a stormin’ 15 Mbps. So for all you New Yorkers lucky enough to be in one of the hot zones, enjoy your super-fast mobile internet. Everyone else, I guess it’s back to waiting for you.
