India has been trying to get more people on the internet using tablets, originally selling the DataWind made Aakash for only $47. The company is returning with a second tablet, now available for pre-order, featuring much better specs. Those specs include a 700MHz processor, 7″ touchscreen with 800×480 resolution, 256MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal storage.
It will also feature a 3 hour battery life, HD video playback, a single USB 2.0 port, Wi-Fi and interestingly enough GPRS. Everything is powered by none other than Android 2.3, also known as Gingerbread. It will be priced at $57, $10 more than its predecessor. Customers in India can expect to get the tablet next month, while there isn’t a specified date. Would anyone buy this tablet? Should more countries offer it? Let us know in the comments!
