Facebook released its Timeline feature and of course, the update hit the Facebook app for Android. The update includes Timeline and really, there’s nothing that is lost in translation. What’s surprising about this move is that the company has traditionally released the iOS updates to blaze the trail before Android got a taste, not this time.
Based on discussions with developers this was merely a matter of efficiency. Apparently, developing for iOS is much simpler and without any fragmentation issues to deal with, one version of the app will hit all iPhones with each release. In addition, even with the various form factors (the biggest difference of course, coming from the jump to the iPad from the iPhone), Apple has made it easy for developers to scale their applications without too much work behind the scenes.
