Anyone who’s a serious mobile gamer should probably check this out. Grand Theft Auto III, which launched almost 10 years ago, will be launching on December 15 for select Android devices. It will be priced at $4.99, which is great for such a content packed game. We already knew the game was coming, but had no idea when or for how much. It’s great to see that Android is finally getting some great gaming love, and hopefully we’ll see a lot more of this.
Notice how we said “select” devices as it will not be available for every device at first. The launch phones include the HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2X, while the tablets are the Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive. This is sure to tick at least a few people off, and I know I am.
While some people may be leaping in joy, I’m just a little ticked off. Rockstar probably has good reason to have a limited release at first, as this game will probably be very intense on phones. I’ve been looking forward to this game for awhile, having memories of playing it on my cousin’s PS2 at family gatherings. I don’t own a supported device, and I’m not sure when I’ll be able to even play it. Anyone else feel my pain? So in the meantime, let us know what you think of the game when it launches on Twitter, Facebook, or Google+. Anyone mad their device won’t be able to play the game as well? Anyone with supported hardware excited?
