The Android developer community is big, but even they need some help from the manufacturers to modify devices to their fullest extent. HTC has stated before that they’ll try to make the process as easy as possible, and they’ve stayed committed with their Developer Center. Today they released the source code and other GPL bits of two of their devices for developers to use.
The phones include the Desire S, as well as the Sensation XL in various regions of the world. This may not mean much for users in the US, but it could mean ports, as well as new ROMs for anyone that has the device. It will take some time before we see anything, but it’s good to know that HTC is sticking to their word. Anyone own these devices and excited? Any devs excited to dive into the code? Let us know in the comments!
