HTC Elite will feature Android 4.0 and Beats audio, will launch for AT&T in April

While HTC isn’t in the business of announcing devices ahead of their internal schedule, it looks like Boy Genius Report was able to get in touch with someone who is quite familiar with HTC’s plans for 2012, and didn’t mind talking them up. While we have already seen renders of the rumored HTC Ville and HTC Edge, it looks like the HTC Elite is HTC’s true flagship device for Android in the first part of 2012.

According to the new report, the HTC Elite will be landing on AT&T’s network as soon as the first or second week of April in 2012. There aren’t many (or any, really) details regarding the device, other than that it will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and feature Beats Audio Technology. The rumor also suggests that while the Elite name is being used within HTC at the moment, it will be launched with the “Congressional” name instead.

If the device is indeed launching in April there’s a good chance that we get to see the device at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, so we’ll stay tuned to see if the HTC Elite/Congressional makes an appearance.
