Lenovo’s phablet, phoneblet, or phone+tablet was unveiled late last month, and the debate on whether or not the world needs another 5-inch phone was immediately resurrected. We’ve seen similar devices in the past, from both Samsung and Dell, and Lenovo is just the newest member to a party that will probably keep gaining manufacturers. The five-inch LePad S2005 is now available for purchase in China, and thankfully it doesn’t feature a remarkably high price tag.
The LePad S2005 features a 5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800×480. There’s a 1.2GHz dual-core processor under the hood, which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. A 5MP rear-facing camera for taking those important shots, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera for all that video calling you’ll want to do. It is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box, and there’s no word on an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich quite yet.
Finally, as for pricing, you’ll be looking at 2,699 Yuan, or about $415. Again, that’s not a bad price at all. There’s no word on whether or not this device will be making it State-side, but we’ll keep you informed either way.
