Did you want to play Street Fighter IV HD on your brand new Samsung Galaxy Nexus? Well, you can’t. At least not yet, anyway. Capcom has teamed up with LG to launch the popular video game for a pair of LG-branded handsets, and that’s it. So if you’re lucky enough to own an LG Nitro HD on AT&T, or the newly released LG Optimus LTE, then you won’t have a problem getting your hand on the game.
It is being handled like this, much to the dismay of anyone out there who doesn’t own one of these handsets and would love to play the game, because a huge tournament is being sponsored by LG. The LG Cup will feature Street Fighter IV HD as its main game of contest, and it will be held within South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Winners will be chosen from these three countries, and the top contenders in each of them will be flown to Seoul, South Korea for the finals. If you make it there, you’ll be broadcast on South Korea’s gaming channel, OnGameNet. Here in the States, the tournament will rack up a huge $21,000 in prize money.
