LG updates their Ice Cream Sandwich list, adds some new handsets

While LG was one of the first companies to come forward and announce which of their devices already on the market would be getting the much anticipated upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, there wasn’t a lot of information along with the list. In fact, there weren’t a lot of handsets on the list, either. But it looks like LG has found out that quite a few other handsets will be perfectly capable of running the software update, and has decided to let the world know.

What’s better, though, is that LG has included a shady time frame, too. Here are the handsets that are expected to get update in the second quarter of 2012:

  • LG Optimus LTE
  • Prada phone by LG 3.0
  • LG Optimus 2X
  • LG Optimus Sol
  • LG myTouch Q
  • LG Eclipse

And here are the devices that LG expects to update in the third quarter of 2012:

  • LG Optimus 3D
  • LG Optimus Black
  • LG Optimus Big
  • LG Optimus Q2
  • LG Optimus EX

So there you have it. It’s good to see that while LG is focusing on their Optimus brand of devices for the eventual software update, a handset like the LG myTouch Q is also included. We will have to wait for LG to give us some specific dates, but at least we were allowed in the ballpark this time around.
